Activities

Some of our most popular events are pub or winebar evenings where members meet for informal drinks and conversation. Food is available at most  venues for those who also want a snack or a meal. No need to book for these - just check the programme and turn up for a relaxing evening.

Lunch, dinner and afternoon tea:. We hold regular restaurant evenings and Sunday lunches, and - for those who like tradition and elegance - afternoon teas, usually in hotels. Meals usually need to be booked in advance with the office.

Our cultural events take in theatre productions, concerts, operas, jazz and blues, art exhibitions, museums and visits to interesting buildings.

Walks: our keen walkers don their boots for walks of 8-10 miles once or twice a month. We also do some shorter walks, about 3-6 miles, for those with slightly lower energy levels.

Excursions and days out:  Many of us enjoy events like the Henley Regatta, watching the races at Ascot, visits to stately homes and gardens, boat trips (including the Waverley paddle steamer), trips to Bruges or to Christmas markets. We also do a few short holiday breaks, especially at Christmas and Easter.

Other activities: there are also opportunities to join in with events arranged by organisations other than Kaleidoscope, such as ceroc, swimming and leisure centre activities.
